Stinky, Brooklyn, New York Stinky is a tiny cheese shop in Brooklyn that gets lots of attention from the neighborhood clientele, and lately from Manhattan New Yorkers. Stinky has a large variety of imported and domestic cheeses, a lovely ham counter, and a variety of cheese related specialties. It is really nice to see the legs of ham sitting on the counter, and the Stinky staff slicing samples and handing them across the counter to waiting customers. "Stinky has been open for about four years and we have a steady clientele" explained Lucas who is in charge of the cheese cave. He graciously gave us a tour of the cave, and talked to us about several of the cheeses as well as some of the history of the store. Both Lucas and a young woman working the counters were extremely attentive to customers, who enjoyed sampling and purchasing the tempting specialties. A visit to Stinky is not only an experience, but a lovely way to spend an afternoon strolling and food shopping in Brooklyn.
